Contraindications: Who Is Not A Candidate for Semi-Permanent Makeup

It is extremely important to review this list prior to booking any Semi-Permanent Makeup procedures at our studio. It may slightly varies from different places and depending on the artists.

At Joy Beauty, client’s safety and a perfect result are our priorities. Clients who have any of these listed contraindications are not a candidate for semi-permanent makeup procedures.

● Under 18 year-old.

● Diabetes (uncontrolled) . If it is Controlled, please present Doctor’s Approval Note.

● Pregnant and lactating women (while nursing)

● Glaucoma

● Currently taking blood-thinning medications (e.g. Aspirin or related)

● Currently on Cortisone, Steroids, Acutaine, Renova, Coumadin, Heparin.

● Have skin diseases such as: Psoriasis, eczema, undiagnosed rashes and blisters.

● Allergic to makeup and colors, or easily trigger post inflammatory hyper-pigmentation.

● Individuals who attempt to cover or camouflage Telangestasia or birthmarks.

● High blood pressure and heart conditions.
● If it is Controlled, please present Doctor’s Approval Note.

● Blood disorder such as hemophilia, sickle cell anemia and platelet disorder.

● Keloids or hypertrophic scarring on the face.

● Severe acne on or around the treated area.

● Chemotherapy: please wait at least 6 months post-chemotherapy

● For Eyeliner procedure: we cannot perform if you currently experiencing stye, red eye, allergic reaction or any eye diseases.

● For lips procedure: we cannot perform if you currently experiencing herpes or coldsore. If you have had Herpes simplex before, please take medication prior to lip procedure .

An eyelash extension serevice involves adhering a synthetic lash or lash fan to your natural,or real , eyelash to enhance your look.

We select only the best quality lash extensions and use the finest medical-grade adhesive. We are selected in hiring lash stylist for their professionalism and artis try and require them to undergo our proprietary training and certification.
We care about each guest who enters our studio. Prior to every lash service, our stylist will conduct a consultation to understand your beauty goals, assess the state of your natural lashes,and discuss which extensions and shapes are best for you.
We take great care to ensure that your natural lash stay healthy. In fact, we will never recommend any lash type or style that will be damaging to your natural lash,and might politely refuse service requests that could cause damage. Natural lashes are typically shed Avery 2-3 weeks. With our JoyBeauties technique,our lash extensions will fall out with your natural cycle. That’s why fills(the process to fill in lash extensions that have been grown out or lost) are
recommended every 2-3 weeks.
At JoyBeauties, we never count lashes during our full set or fill services. We just place as many lash extensions as possible during the allotted time.

If you’re wearing lash extensions you need to have them removed at least 24hrs before. If you wear contacts lenses- please take them out and wear glasses instead

Attention

If you have had cold sores or ever had one in the past, you will need an antiviral prescription from your doctor before getting lip procedure.

Cold sores happen anytime when there is stress to the lips. Taking the medication will help to suppress the cold sores.

Physicians may instruct to take it 2 days before and after.

If you like to get lip filler, it is better to do before your lip blush for symmetry and plumpness and you must wait for

at least 3-4 weeks for the filler to completely settle. Be sure to follow the instructions.
